ANCOR's new report, The State of America's Direct Support Workforce Crisis 2021, summarizes the findings of ANCOR's 2021 Direct Support Workforce Crisis Survey.

Thank you to everyone who has taken action and shared with your networks! Your advocacy has been incredible.

And, there's still more you can do! You can also help us push the message on social media and tweet at your members of Congress to make sure they hear from you about why they must fund HCBS and address the crisis facing our direct care workforce. Below are some sample tweets you can use. Here is a searchable tool that you can use to find your Representative's or Senators' Twitter handles.

  • #Medicaid #HCBS is key to including ppl w/ #disabilities in the community, but #COVID19 exacerbated a long-standing workforce crisis in this field. ANCOR's survey data details the devastating crisis and illustrates why #CareCantWait: bit.ly/3ASgUH9
  • Our direct care workforce is in a crisis, jeopardizing long-term supports for those in our communities with disabilities. But #CareCantWait. Support $400 billion for Medicaid HCBS funding and read more from ANCOR's direct care workforce survey: bit.ly/3ASgUH9
  • Our new report shows how the #COVID19 pandemic has worsened the workforce crisis for HCBS providers, who struggle to compete for & retain workers. It's time to address this crisis and support $400 billion for HCBS in the budget reconciliation bill. bit.ly/3ASgUH9  #CareCantWait
  • 81% of voters support increased funding for #HCBS in the budget reconciliation bill because they know #CareCantWait. Now more than ever, our direct care workers and the people w/ disabilities who rely on them need your support  bit.ly/3ASgUH9

As Congress continues to negotiate the final budget reconciliation package, the time to take action is now. Thank you for all that you are doing to keep up the pressure on our members of Congress to fully fund HCBS.
