July 03, 2024

Launch the media gallery 1 player

Our next free Supported Employment training opportunity will be Thursday, August 1st.

We'll be joined by Jeannine Pavlok from NEON.  The U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) established the National Expansion of Employment Opportunities Network (NEON) initiative in 2019.  NEON assists National Provider Organizations (NPOs) and their affiliated Local Provider Organizations (LPOs), State Intermediary Organizations (SIOs) and State Government Agencies (SGAs) in advancing competitive, integrated employment.

NASP was chosen as one of five state associations to receive free training and technical support through NEON.

Morning Session 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Capacity Building: Job Development Staff

We will discuss: the importance of having a stand alone job development team whose sole focus is Supported Employment services; the role of frontline supervisors in Supported Employment services; staff recruitment and retention techniques.

Afternoon Session 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Capacity Building: Natural Supports

We will discuss: helping families and caregivers understand the possibilities and potential for their loved one working competitive, integrated jobs in the community; building up their capacity to help loved ones be successful in their jobs as provider job coaches fade away.
